In this section, we are going to cover yet another story of a passionate home chef, Ummi.
How her journey started
In 2020, when the times were difficult during the circuit breaker, Ummi Uzayr was one of our brave chef who found strength and motivation to start WhiskitbyUmmiUzayr.
Ummi works full time and also bakes in part-time as a hobby she wants to pursue. She is passionate and confident about what she does and has complete faith and trust in the Singaporean community to help her grow.
Her Specialities and Favourite dishes
Ummi started with baking Nutella Horseshoe Cake during the festive period to pass her time and turns out it was a complete hit. She was taken aback with the responses she received and decided to experiment with new dishes.
“I am a family person. I am very close to my relatives, and we often plan to meet. So, I decided to introduce more dishes that are suitable for mini gatherings.”
She introduced cheeseboard platter – a perfect snack for a fun meet which also turned out to be the bestselling dish. Recently she decided to add Choux pastries as a mini bite to her exciting menu.
